About Suthahar

I'm Suthahar Jegatheesan, a Technical Architect based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For 18+ years I've designed cloud, AI and mobile systems for automotive, manufacturing, retail, logistics and financial companies across APAC, India and Europe. I also write everything you'll find on MSDEVBUILD.

What I actually do

My work sits in three places that keep overlapping. Microsoft Azure, across the full PaaS and IaaS stack. AI, meaning Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Bot Framework and RAG pipelines that hold up under real load. And cross-platform mobile, in Flutter, .NET MAUI and the Xamarin codebases that came before them.

In practice that means cloud-native, event-driven applications with secure APIs and CI/CD that nobody has to babysit. I lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams, set architecture roadmaps, and spend a lot of my time arguing for engineering standards that will still make sense in three years.

How I got here

I started blogging and speaking in 2007, as a hobby rather than a career move. Fresh out of college in Coimbatore, I put what I was learning onto my own blog, into MSDN forums, into C# Corner, and into whatever local event would have me. The habit stuck. Nearly two decades on I'm still writing, still speaking, and still curious about whatever is next.

Writing and community

I founded and run MSDEVBUILD, a technical blog and YouTube channel on Microsoft Azure, AI, .NET MAUI, Xamarin, Flutter and DevOps. It has grown into 500+ published articles read by more than 10,000 people a month, and Feedspot lists it among the Top 100 Microsoft Azure blogs worldwide.

Mentoring students, free

Since 2007 I've mentored students and junior programmers through C# Corner, weekly meetups and college visits across India, and never charged for any of it. Students email me directly about programming, certifications and career decisions, and I answer as many as I can. That has added up to 15,000+ students, work that The Hindu newspaper wrote about under the headline "a promise of hope." The whole story is on my Helping Hand page.

Away from any of that, when I get the chance I spend time at a local orphanage. Sharing a meal, showing someone a basic skill, or just being there. It's a small thing. It matters to me.

Why I keep doing this

I can't switch off the urge to learn something new, and that is what keeps the writing going. What I enjoy is helping someone get past the problem they're actually stuck on, not the easy one next to it. Nearly two decades in, that part hasn't changed at all.
